The AFA Pipe Freeze Protection Cable warms up via an internal heating conductor and is designed to remain intact without cutting. It is also crucial that different sections of the cable do not overlap. The cable is suitable for operation under rated voltages of 120Vac, 240V, or 230V, with a maximum ambient temperature limit of 85°F (30°C) and a minimum installation threshold of 15°F (-10°C).

This cable system is comprised of three main components: the heating cable, a cold lead, and an integrated thermostat. The cold lead, which is essentially a standard electric wire with a plug. The integrated thermostat, typically installed at the end of the cable, operates efficiently in ambient temperatures ranging from 3°C to 10°C, contributing to energy savings.
